Zeke

Just wanted to let you all know that the kitty has a name. His name is Zeke (pronounced like 'zeek' not ゼケ if you're Japanese). Zeke is the name of the main character, a griffin, in the children's book called The Pinkish, Purplish, Bluish Egg. According to the dictionary, a griffin is "a mythical animal typically having the head, forepart, and wings of an eagle and the body, hind legs, and tail of a lion". The message of the story is to be happy about who you are. It's a great story for children and adults!

No, he's not my cat. See the earlier blog with the cat picture. He's my wife's parents' cat.

I don't think they're they most popular names, but I think the most stereotypical name for a dog is "Rover" and for a cat "Fluffy". I'm not sure what is actually most popular. I think the name has to fit the animal. That's why Zeke didn't have a name for a few weeks because they had to decide what best matched his personality.

Hi,

I found your blog off of the Demio one (which I found with the 'next blog' button). Having students blog is a great idea.

I'm an English teacher in Germany and you can find my blog (more about my life here than teaching) here Germany Doesn't Suck

Hey j,

Thanks for commenting on my blog. The goal of blogging in class is to help students have a voice (in English) to people outside the university on topics of their interest. It would be great if there were other blogging teachers and students out there who could comment! I'll check out your blog as well.

cheers!
